RECA works best when its members take an active role, whether helping to organize and run RECA's biggest philanthropic event of the year, or getting more engaged through our Policy Briefings or Regional Updates. If you're a RECA member, we invite you to become an active participant on one or more of these groups to get more engaged and involved.

RECA's Membership Committee focuses on developing new strategies for recruiting new members from the Central Texas region and retaining current ones. Committee members help welcome new members at RECA events and take on other special projects to improve the overall RECA membership experience.
RECA's Events & Communications Committee plans, develops and supports communications and programs that encourage engagement and participation from RECA members and the public. The committee meets regularly to discuss ideas for topics, speakers, content and creative ways to communicate effectively with our members and the Austin community.
RECA's Christmas in October Committee plans and implements an improvement/renovation project for a worthy organization. The committee meets monthly beginning in May and works with the recipient organization to define project scope and identify donors for materials. The committee will lead in a workday on a Saturday in October on which all RECA members are invited to participate.
RECA’s Policy Issues Committee provides members updates on a range of current RECA policy issues, including development, permitting, transportation, and more. It is also an opportunity for members to bring forth issues they have encountered in these policy areas.
RECA Policy Briefings provide members with regular updates on a range of current issues including local and regional transportation, development, city government and more. Attending Policy Briefings is a great way to stay informed on current and upcoming issues facing the industry. All of the meetings take place at the RECA office and there's no need to sign up to participate — notices for upcoming briefings are sent to all RECA members. You can also find upcoming meetings on our calendar here.
RECA's Regional Updates provide members with a quarterly opportunity to drill deeper into a wide range of topics through guest speakers and events in surrounding communities. The program topics range from regional infrastructure issues such as water and energy to land-use policies of cities and counties throughout Central Texas and more. All meetings take place outside of the RECA office in nearby communities. There's no need to sign up to participate — notices for upcoming meetings are sent to all RECA members. You can also find upcoming meetings on our calendar here. RECA Advocates
RECA Advocates are engaged and action-oriented individuals with a vested interest in policies and practices that will shape the future of the City of Austin & the central Texas Region, and who volunteer to engage with local decision-making bodies such as the City of Austin, Travis County and the Texas Legislature.
