RECA works best when its members take an active role, whether helping to organize and run one of the events or helping set our course through one of our policy committees. If you're a RECA member, we invite you to become an active participant on one or more of these committees to help influence the future of RECA, Austin and our state. If you're a RECA member, you can join a committee by clicking the button below.
RECA's Policy Committee regularly hears from local and regional transportation, development, city government and other officials and makes periodic recommendations to the RECA Board regarding policy initiatives. Committee members share their expertise on the potential impact of these initiatives on the commercial real estate industry. Work groups may be appointed to focus on specific issues.
RECA's Regional Issues Committee offers members opportunities to drill deeper into a wide range of regional issues through guest speakers and events with regional allies. The program topics range from regional infrastructure issues such as water and energy to land-use policies of cities and counties throughout Central Texas.
RECA's Membership Committee focuses on developing new strategies for recruiting new members from the Central Texas region and retaining current ones. Committee members help welcome new members at RECA events and participate in a membership drive to reach out to potential members.
RECA's Events & Communications Committee plans, develops and supports communications and programs that encourage engagement and participation from RECA members and the public. The committee meets every other month and members should come prepared with ideas for topics, speakers, content and creative ways to communicate effectively with our members and the Austin community.
RECA's Christmas in October Committee plans & implements an improvement/renovation project for a worthy organization. The committee works with the recipient organization to define project scope & identify donors for materials, culminating in a workday on a Saturday in October on which all RECA members are invited to participate.
