Since RECA's founding in 1991, our annual Christmas in October project has served local community groups in need, contributing more than $2 million in cash and in-kind donations during the process. Christmas in October is RECA's largest philanthropic event and participating in the project is a great way to contribute to a worthy cause while networking and building lasting relationships with other RECA members.
Saturday, October 17
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: Lorraine Camacho Activity Center
Thank you, RECA members! We met our volunteer capacity. Please try again next year!
Lorraine “Grandma” Camacho Activity Center is in East Austin, within steps of the Lady Bird Lake and Butler Trail. Camacho has been nationally recognized for its outdoor outreach programming for underserved and low-income populations. Throughout the school year, Camacho hosts weekly outdoor outreach programs at various AISD and Charter Schools in East Austin. Camacho offers outdoor and environmental education enhancements to PARD after school programs and hosts weekly programming in mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and environmental education for youth, teens, seniors, families and for participants with varying abilities.
